The end of the year and beginning of a new year is a good time to make and reflect on your goals.
“You have to set goals that are almost out of reach. If you set a goal that is attainable without much work or thought, you are stuck with something below your true talent and potential.” —Steve Garvey “Goals. There’s no telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There’s no telling what you can do when you believe in them. And there’s no telling what will happen when you act upon them.” —Jim Rohn “I think goals should never be easy, they should force you to work, even if they are uncomfortable at the time.” —Michael Phelps There are two schools of thought on goals. Some people would say, set small, simple goals and create a plan with steps to reach those goals, others, like me, would say; Dream up goals that are so big they are scary... then find the small steps to get you there, always with the end goal in mind. Dream Big, Have Scary Goals, and Reach for the stars... failures and obstacles will come your way... I would rather fail when reaching for something incredible than something mediocre. Neither approach is wrong... the important thing is to have those goals and dreams and keep yourself moving closer to them every day with a plan. Never give up, never be scared to try, and never let someone tell you that your goals are too big. A determined person with a goal or dream and a plan is unstoppable. If you ever stop making progress in your life or career take a look at your goals. Are you still making goals, are you still challenging yourself to move forward? Maybe it's time to take a new approach! We discussed goals on the Inspired to Greatness podcast last year.... it was a good chat!
